Mopeds in the Park

We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe.

Sgt Beckley and I conducted a cycle patrol of the ward on Saturday where we were flagged down by a member of public to a moped parked outside Primrose Hill Cafe. Though we were limited in our powers not being able to prove it had been ridden in the park, we are aware there have been reports of mopeds and other bikes riding in the park.

We were able to locate the owner and a warning about riding in the park was given.
We are continuing to work with the Council and Royal Parks to explore ways we can reduce access to the park for motor vehicles and bikes, while not restricting access for members of public and emergency services.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
